A Promising Future is on the move!

You will be excited to know that our preventative education department is busy in schools this fall semester. The A Promising Future (APF) team, including, Tia Davis-Burns, Program Director, Jasminka Newbern, Curriculum Coordinator & School Liaison, Spenser Sikkema, Staff Instructor and Alissa Goble, Administrative Manager are happy to be back in the classroom equipping teens, young adults, parents and educators with needed life skills offered through The Diamond Standard Curriculum. APF also offers supplemental workshops including:

• Taking Charge: Making Healthy Decisions for your Life
• Relationships: Respecting Dignity as a Central Issue of Consent
• Relationships: Establishing Boundaries and a Healthy Foundation
• Got Stress? Applying Healthy Strategies to Cope Well
• Teen Dating Violence: Standing Up Against Violence

On the horizon, we will be creating a workshop to be a part of community prevention efforts to create awareness and reduce the prevalence of suicide in teens and young adults.

Through The Diamond Standard curriculum and the supplemental workshops, our desire is to equip every participant with relevant tools, skills, and resources so they are empowered to make well-informed, whole person honoring decisions in every area of their life.
