When you’re feeling overwhelmed by the thought of being pregnant, it’s important to take things one step at a time.
I need to find out if I’m pregnant.
Sometimes, it can be hard to tell if you are pregnant, especially early on. A missed period is most commonly the first sign, however, there are many other factors that can impact your menstrual cycle.
Here are a few signs and symptoms that are often associated with an early pregnancy:
- Missed period
- Swollen, tender breasts
- Frequent urination
- Food aversions
The only way to know for sure if you are pregnant is to take a pregnancy test. The best time to take a test is after you’ve already missed your period.
When you come to Alternatives, you’ll find a safe, confidential place to take a free pregnancy test to confirm or rule out a pregnancy. We offer a medical-grade urine pregnancy test that provides accurate results so you can have the information you need to take the next step.
Your medical records are then made available to you and can be shared with a medical provider with your permission.
I know I’m pregnant. What happens next?
Once you confirm that you’re pregnant, the next step is to have an ultrasound.
With a positive pregnancy test, Alternatives offers a limited pregnancy ultrasound to confirm intrauterine pregnancy, check fetal heartbeat, determine gestational age, and estimate a due date. We can also help you understand all of the stages of fetal development.
Keep in mind that in order to have an ultrasound, you need to have a positive pregnancy test from our clinic or a proof of pregnancy statement letter from your physician.
